Secret Invasion (2023) – Season 1 is a miniseries available on the streaming service Disney+, created by Kyle Bradstreet. It draws inspiration from the Marvel Comics storyline of the same name and belongs to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), being the ninth television series produced by Marvel Studios. The show maintains continuity with the films of the franchise and centers around Nick Fury and his allies, who join forces to thwart a Skrull invasion of Earth. Ali Selim directs the series under the guidance of Bradstreet, who serves as the head writer.
The series features the return of Samuel L. Jackson in his role as Fury, alongside Ben Mendelsohn as Talos. The cast also includes Kingsley Ben-Adir, Charlayne Woodard, Killian Scott, Samuel Adewunmi, Dermot Mulroney, Christopher McDonald, Katie Finneran, Emilia Clarke, Olivia Colman, and Don Cheadle.
Secret Invasion (2023) – Season 1 Development of the series commenced in September 2020, with Bradstreet and Jackson already on board. In December of that year, the title, premise, and Mendelsohn’s casting were revealed. Additional cast members were announced between March and April 2021, and Selim was hired to direct in May. Filming took place in London from September 2021 until late April 2022, with additional scenes shot in West Yorkshire and Liverpool, England.
“Secret Invasion” premiered on Disney+ on June 21, 2023, consisting of six episodes. It serves as the inaugural series of Phase Five in the MCU.
