Clash Of The Titans – 2010 – After the Titans were defeated, the world was divided among the gods. Zeus claimed the skies, Poseidon the seas, and Hades, deceived by Zeus, was left to rule the Underworld. Mortals were created by Zeus, and their worship sustained the immortality of the gods.
However, as time passed (shortly after the Trojan War and Odysseus’ 10-year journey back to Ithaca), some mortals began to rebel against their creators. Perseus, a demigod conceived by Zeus and the human queen Danae during the siege of her husband King Acrisius at Mount Olympus, became the center of a tumultuous tale.
Clash Of The Titans – 2010 When Acrisius discovered Danae’s pregnancy, he ordered her execution and trapped the newborn Perseus in a chest with his mother’s lifeless body. Zeus, in his fury, struck Acrisius with a lightning bolt, disfiguring him severely. The king then cast the chest into the sea, where it was found by the fisherman Spyros and his wife Marmara. They raised Perseus as their own.
Years later, Perseus and his family witness soldiers from the city of Argos demolishing a statue of Zeus, proclaiming war against the gods. The unleashed Furies massacre the soldiers, and Hades appears, destroying the family’s fishing vessel. Perseus becomes the sole survivor.
Rescued by a group of soldiers, Perseus is brought before King Cepheus and Queen Cassiopeia, who are celebrating their rebellion against the gods. Their daughter, Princess Andromeda, disapproves of her parents’ actions. However, when Cassiopeia boasts about Andromeda’s beauty, Hades interrupts the revelry.
